There are three big clean energy events happening this Thursday.

First, Environment Texas is hosting a small protest of a coal industry conference in which Governor Perry will speak. We want to make sure they know Texans do NOT want any more coal-fired power plants. Join us outside the Omni Hotel in downtown Austin from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.

Then, T Boone Pickens is hosting a town hall meeting to discuss his energy plan for America. We love his big plans to boost wind power (including building the world's largest wind farm out in the Panhandle). We might not agree on all of his plan (e.g. subsidies for the natural gas industry), but he has clearly helped kickstart a long overdue discussion about America's energy future and for that we should be excited. Go hear what he has to say. The meeting is in the Texas Union Ballroom at UT Austin and starts at 2:30 PM (doors open at 1:30).

Finally, if you live in Victoria, be sure to go see Dr. Arjun Makhijani, a national expert on nuclear power, talk about why a proposed nuclear power plant twelve miles from Victoria is a bad idea.
