We are gaining serious momentum towards increasing funding for our state parks! Yesterday, Governor Perry announced his support for significantly increasing funding for our state parks by removing the cap on the "sporting goods tax". This is a major milestone in the campaign to get the Legislature to provide the funds to create a world-class parks system in Texas.

When he made his announcement, the Governor urged Texans who support our state parks to contact his office and let him know. Let's accept his challenge and have the phones at the Governor's mansion ringing off the hook for the next few days!
 
Please call Governor Perry today at 1-800-252-9600 and tell him you support our state parks and thank him for his support for increased funding.
 
Here's a sample message you can leave: "Hello, my name is ____ and I live in _____. I'm calling to tell the Governor that I care deeply about our state parks and support his call for the Legislature to increase funding for the parks system."
