This past Tuesday at the EPA's region 6 headquarters in Dallas, new regional administrator Al Armendariz was officially sworn into his position. U.S. Rep. Silvestre Reyes, D-El Paso, performed the swearing in ceremony in front of a large crowd of elected officials, EPA staff, and members of the environmental community. Armendariz spoke briefly about cleaning up our region's air and taking strong measures to address climate change. His appointment brings in a new era for region 6 with a tough-minded EPA working to take serious action to protect our environment.
