Luke Metzger

Luke Metzger is the director of Environment Texas Research & Policy Center.

He is the author or co-author of several reports including Texas Natural Areas At Risk. His essay "Polluting the Brazos, Sullying the Soul of Texas" was chosen for publication in the college writing textbook, "The Longwood Guide to Writing." He sits on the Pollution Prevention Advisory Committee of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Open Records Steering Committee of the Office of the Attorney General. He has been named by Capitol Inside as one of the "Top Lobbyists for Causes." Prior to founding Environment Texas, Mr. Metzer worked as a consumer advocate for TexPIRG, the Texas field organizer for U.S.PIRG and a campus organizer for CALPIRG. A graduate from the University of Southern California, 1998.

Alejandro Savransky

Alejandro is the State Field Organizer for the Environment Texas Research and Policy Center.

He has worked on energy and climate change issues, and has been quoted in the Houston Chronicle, the Wall Street Journal, the Daily Texan, the Houston Press, multiple local NPR stations (including KUT and KUHF) and TV stations such as News 8 Austin, KTRK, KHOU, and My Fox Houston. Mr. Savransky previously directed citizen outreach and fund-raising campaigns for three years. He recruited and trained hundreds of environmental activists, and worked on successful campaigns to protect the Florida Everglades from development, increase the Corporate Average Fuel Economy standard and prevent dangerous spills from oil tankers. In 2006, he worked on a major voter mobilization effort with MoveOn Political Action, overseeing two congressional races in Florida. He attended Jacksonville University, majoring in Philosophy.
