Environment Texas advocates parks bond

On June 8, the Austin City Council approved a bond package to fund important community priorities like parks and natural area protection, flood control, affordable housing and transportation. Thanks to an outpouring of community support, Environment Texas and our allies were able to get the Council to include in the bond package $50 million for land acquisition in the Barton Springs watershed.

With companies like AMD developing over the Edwards Aquifer, passage of Proposition 2 is critical to protecting vulnerable land in the Barton Springs watershed.
