Growing support for saving state parks

Responding to growing public concerns, pressure from groups like Environment Texas, and widespread media attention about the crisis with Texas state parks, dozens of elected officials, including Gov. Rick Perry and House Speaker Tom Craddick, have publicly called for increased funding for our state parks when the Legislature convenes this spring.

In 2005, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department considered a plan to sell part of Big Bend Ranch State Park to a developer.
