Growing support for saving state parks
Responding to growing public concerns,
pressure from groups like Environment
Texas, and widespread media attention
about the crisis with Texas state parks,
dozens of elected officials, including
Gov. Rick Perry and House Speaker
Tom Craddick, have publicly called for
increased funding for our state parks
when the Legislature convenes this spring. |

In 2005, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department considered a plan to sell part of Big
Bend Ranch State Park to a developer. |
