It Really Was Hotter than Usual Last Year (new window)It's not always easy when you live in South Texas to determine if the scorching temperatures are just part of a normal sweltering summer or something a little extraordinary. But here's a news flash from Environment Texas. It really was hotter than normal last year. A lot hotter. According to a new report released
today, San Antonio and Austin each had 38 more days of 90 degrees or
above last year than normal. That put the number of 90-plus days in San
Antonio last year at an astounding 151, up from the historic average of
113. The 38 days above the norm tied San Antonio and Austin for the
fourth most in the nation.
