Environment Texas Director Luke Metzger released the following statement.
“Landscape watering accounts for one-third of residential water use in Texas, but many Texans are making the switch away from water-thirsty lawns and to drought-tolerant landscaping. Texans want to do their part to help conserve water, but too often barriers, including outdated homeowners association policies, stand in the way. We applaud the Senate for taking a sensible step to help Texans save water in their homes, helping us meet the challenge of the drought and protect our environment.”
