Environment Texas Launches "State Parks Express" RV to Call on Legislature to Fully Fund Texas Parks

Today, Environment Texas launched a 1250 mile road trip of their “State Parks Express” RV to draw attention to the Legislature’s continuing failure to give adequate funding to Texas’ state and local parks. The RV, which will travel to Midland, Lubbock, Amarillo, Waco and College Station, will stop outside the office of the local legislator and invite local citizens to come out for a “weenie roast for the parks.”

Group Calls for Texas to Go Solar

Standing before one of San Antonio’s premiere solar businesses, a group of public officials, environmentalists and solar business owners released a new report showing the enormous potential for Texas to become a world solar leader. The group used the report to call for legislation to make it cost-effective for homeowners and businesses to install solar panels.

TXU's Plan to Drop 8 Plants Great News, But 11 Plants Still in Works for Texas

Environment Texas today applauded the cancellation of plans by TXU to build eight coal-fired power plants. Environment Texas also expressed concern that three new coal-fired plants remained on the drawing board in Texas, and as many as 140 other plants across the country.
