Ten years of progress positions Texas to take renewable energy to the next level

AUSTIN - Since 2007, Texas has seen a 21,466% increase in the amount of electricity it gets from the sun and a 639% increase in wind power production, according to a new report released today by Environment Texas Research & Policy Center. The report also highlights Texas’ leadership in the use of energy storage and electric vehicles, but finds Texas ranked 47th for improvements in electricity energy efficiency programs.

Report: Colleges and Universities Can Lead America’s Shift to 100 Percent Renewable Energy

AUSTIN - America’s colleges and universities are positioned to lead the transition to 100 percent renewable energy, according to a report released today by Environment Texas Research & Policy Center. And new legislation would authorize student funding to help colleges green their campuses. At least twenty Texas colleges and universities have set goals to achieve carbon neutrality and many have taken important steps toward clean energy.

Environment Texas kicks off public education effort for 100 percent clean, renewable energy

AUSTIN  -- Environment Texas Research & Policy Center will deploy dozens of door-knockers this summer in a multi-million-dollar effort to educate Texans about the possibility of 100 percent clean, renewable energy. Part of a nationwide campaign to reach more than 1.3 million Americans, canvassers will distribute literature to more than 26,000 households around Texas, including in Austin, San Antonio and Houston, showing that the country has both the tools and the imperative to transition entirely off dirty fuels to clean sources such as wind and solar.
