In 2003, after Environment Texas research documented that polluters are routinely allowed to keep illegally-gained profits when they break the law, state regulators agreed to conduct a comprehensive review of their penalty policies.

Power Plants Kept Accountable

A federal court stalled the Bush administration’s plan to let dirty power plants off the hook from Clean Air Act requirements, thanks to a lawsuit filed on behalf of Environment Texas and its allies.
